Doug Diffie

Doug is the managing partner of the Diffie Retail Team at Marcus & Millichap’s Austin office. As a director of Marcus & Millichap’s Net Leased Properties Group (“NLPG”) and National Retail Group (“NRG”), Doug has built a team that specializes in the acquisition and disposition of single-tenant net-leased properties. While the Diffie Retail Team agents are licensed in Texas, Doug’s knowledge of the single-tenant net-leased marketplace extends nationwide. He and his team have worked with clients in thirty-seven states and have evaluated properties occupied by over 150 distinct tenants.

Doug attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he earned a degree in Government.  Following graduation from William and Mary, he earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Richmond, where he served as the managing editor for the Journal of Global Law and Business as well as an executive board member on the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2015, Douglas clerked for two Judges on the Norfolk Circuit Court in Norfolk, Virginia and next practiced corporate real estate law for several years at a boutique law firm outside of Washington, DC. As a result of his legal background and practical legal experience, Doug brings a unique and powerful skill set to the real estate investment world.  He is knowledgeable in the intricacies of the federal tax code, including the 1031 exchange, has handled a wide range of land use and planning matters and is well-versed in the art of contract negotiation.

Dan Perrine

Senior Associate

Dan Perrine is a net-leased and multi-tenant retail specialist with Diffie Retail Team at Marcus & Millichap in Austin, Texas. He is an associate director of Marcus and Millichap’s Net Leased Properties Group. Dan has represented clients ranging from small mom-and-pop investors to professional real estate groups and seasoned franchisees, but his goal always remains the same—to provide the highest level of service to his clients with the purpose of fostering long-lasting relationships.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Perrine was a residential real estate agent in a highly competitive urban market in Northern New Jersey. In addition to his work in real estate, Dan also worked for a boutique actuarial firm and was the head assistant coach at a Division III baseball program in New Jersey.

Mr. Perrine attended Rutgers University where he was a member of the Division I Baseball program for the Scarlet Knights. Aside from his passion for real estate, Dan enjoys playing multiple instruments, golf, baseball, and spending time with friends and family.

Jake Fahner

Jake Fahner specializes in single-tenant net-lease acquisition and disposition with the Diffie Retail Team at Marcus & Millichap in Austin, Texas. As a motivated self-starter and natural leader, Jake applies his growth-driven business approach to every aspect of portfolio management, helping his clients feel confident in their long-term investment success.

Jake earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, where he was a member and speaker in the Financial Independence Club and an associate member of the prestigious Entrepreneurship Club. A native of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Jake gained lifelong skills in business and leadership at an early age while contributing to the operation of his family’s berry farm. Additionally, Jake is a Spanish speaker with nearly a decade of team management experience. His industriousness and enthusiasm for entrepreneurship make him a thorough and well-informed real estate advisor.

With a focus on principal-driven brokerage, Jake feels eager to establish himself in the Austin market by delivering consistent, authentic service with sincerity and integrity. Nash Baines

Nash Baines joined the Diffie Retail Team at Marcus & Millichap in Austin in the summer of 2023. He specializes in single-tenant net lease brokerage with a concentration in quick-service restaurants. Nash is extremely hard-working and motivated to get his clients the best deal possible. He strives to create long-lasting relationships and considers his clients part of his family. Audra’s journey in real estate began in a different arena, where she worked on the project management team with an international commercial construction firm, specializing in natural disaster recovery projects. Audra is a proud alumna of Texas State University, where she pursued a degree in Human Behavioral Sciences. Haley Doyle

Executive Administrator

Haley joined the Diffie Retail Team in 2021 as its marketing and executive administrator. As the team’s primary point of contact within the firm, she facilitates professional relationships and client communication. For each property her team brings to market, Haley researches the site details, communicates with clients to understand their vision, designs custom offering memoranda, and launches e-mail and online marketing campaigns. She also reviews contracts, manages and analyzes data, coordinates escrow, and keeps the team on track.

New to Austin, Haley grew up in Lancaster, Massachusetts. She attended High Point University in High Point, North Carolina where she received both a B.A. in Strategic Communication in 2020 and an M.A. in Communication and Business Leadership in 2021. She was a member of the Division 1 Track and Field team during her years at HPU and helped lead the team to a Big South Championship title in 2019. She enjoys traveling with her family and exploring new places.
